JAI

SLYGE creative director and Black gay slayer, Rig Rush, gives a not-so-simple answer to one of the biggest questions for Black gay culture.

US: Patient is a meditation on aspects of culture in which Black gay people are waiting.  Sometimes a symbol of strength, but most often a source of angst, Rig Rush takes us through his thoughts, feelings, and experience around a culture of patient people.

“I’m waiting for Black gay men to mentor each other instead of entering each other.”

Known for his butch queen realness and alchemic strength, Rig drops the veil of his experience and gives us, culture, the fruit of his expression.  Shrouded in darkness, we wanted his words the powerful words of this creative to speak in a way that screams–patiently.
